As creative lead for Mopar, I am responsible for coming up with new innovative ideas to help dealerships succeed in selling Mopar Parts and Accessories. Mopar has really pushed me into become a print designer and conceptual thinker for direct mail. Knowing the future of the business and where they should be, I was able to successful sell them on an all-digital approach to their point-of-sale kits, including a fully functional, dealer-facing asset management site.

Other projects I’ve worked on include an All-Weather Floor Mat program, JPP Catalog redesign, an unconventional way to get dealers to sign up for a reconditioning program, and countless support materials.

For years, the Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) Catalog was struggling to showcase its Performance Parts offering properly. With a dated look and overcrowded layout, we knew we needed to do something to visually represent how awesome the JPP parts really are.

After an initial discovery phase, we did a complete overhaul on the catalog to bring it closer to where they wanted to be as a brand. With a cleaner overall product layout, large beautiful hero images, and the addition of humanistic editorial content we were able to bring this catalog and the brand to life.

Let’s set the scene. It’s the 70s, muscle cars are a plenty, and racing is a big part of culture. Everyone had to have the fastest car, with the latest customizations. Thanks to Direct Connection, they were the first company to offer drag race-worthy parts directly to the consumer. they’ve made their presence known for a few decades until automotive trends changed.

Well, they’ve been quiet for too long and are back to own the racing market again. As part of the Mopar family of Performance Parts, they’re backed by Mopar’s warranty and reputation.

To help announce the launch of this heritage brand, we conceptualized a handful of high-impact print pieces meant to be passed around at events.

This particular piece is a two-sided 5 panel accordion fold, with a perforated panel and a printed clear cover. When folded shut, the printed cover would overlay the cover vehicle with a retro-inspired plume of smoke. The perforated edge enabled readers to keep the cover portion as a keepsake without comprising the rest of the reading material.

How do you get dealers to realize that they’re missing out on cash incentives for things they’re already doing?

It’s simple.

You don’t bombard them with more emails and simple mail pieces that they’re sure to throw away. You send them something they can’t miss, that’s so blatantly obvious, but they’ve never been sent it before.

You send them a money shaped candle to represent the money they could burn, or, the money they’re figuratively lighting on fire by not enrolling in an incentive program.

As part of the Retail support of my business, we create materials to help inform dealers of Mopar product lines so they can better sell them to consumers.

In this instance, we were asked to create a program folder that holds the entire catalog of Mopar and Magneti Marelli Offered by Mopar Wipers, key why-buys, a customer sell journey, and laminated fitment chart so service advisors can easily identify what Wipers a customer needs.
